When Fugitive Dancer put their snapshots of memories into melodies and words, the beauty of life always remains visible between the lines – even when an undeniable melancholy often accompanies the melodic indie pop songs of their new album ‘BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER’. The lyrics wander between the modesty of the endowed lover and the restless yelling of a mind that never gets enough of life. The musicians manage to form impressive suspense curves that tie in with an enigmatic intensity of the two voices, creating their own very special sound, which occupies a space somewhere between early Coldplay songs and The National.

It all started in autumn 2008, when the two singers, Maxim Skripko and Sebastian Krichler, met pianist Julian Klein during their studies in Ulm, Germany. Their common passion and devotion for music not only enticed drummer Marius Stehle to join them, but also let their studies take the back seat. In just four months, their first EP ‚SPARK OF THE FUGITIVE DANCER’ was recorded together with Jadwiga Seelig on the cello, who since then has become a permanent member. After having recorded their Debut-EP – which was done before playing a single concert – Fugitive Dancer hit the road to gather as much live experience as possible.

In less than three years, the six-member group has centered their lives around music. Now they can not only look back on numerous concerts and festivals played across Germany but also the release of their first full-length album ‘BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER’, recorded with Holger Krzywon [Slut, The Notwist] at Restgeräusch Studio in Ingolstadt. During the recordings bass player Andreas Miehle completed the six-piece puzzle.

With the new album Fugitive Dancer have broken down the door of the backroom. The narrative perspective and the silent view from inside on the abstruse and quite normal happenings of life are the same as before, but now the stories are sometimes told with faster rhythms, in a louder and more insistent fashion. There are endless infinite anecdotes to tell and Fugitive Dancer do not want to leave a single one out.
